Development management in Birmingham
Development management for Birmingham schemes, informed by Josh McGuinness MRICS’s career experience in Build-to-Rent delivery and the restoration of listed buildings.
Birmingham brings together two distinct parts of Josh’s track record. The Crown Works involved a constrained brownfield site and 203 Build-to-Rent apartments. The Emporium restored seven Grade II listed buildings to create 184 student beds. These projects were undertaken through previous roles, rather than as original JMGL commissions.
For a new Birmingham appointment, JMGL can help the owner connect site constraints, the planning strategy, the commercial appraisal and the delivery route. A brownfield residential scheme and an occupied or listed property need different risk assessments, consultant inputs and programmes.
The development management brief can cover early feasibility, coordination of the professional team, procurement strategy and client-side delivery oversight. The emphasis is on understanding the risks before they become cost or programme commitments, and keeping the team focused on the client’s objectives.
